Announcing Innistrad League

October 7, 2011 Comments off

Wizards of the Coast has announced a new organized play program called Innistrad League. Here’s how it works: Each league “season” is six weeks long. Participants each received six booster packs of Innistrad with which to build a minimum 40-card deck with and battle against opponents. Over the course of the league, participants will be given additional booster packs to change up their decks as well. In addition, there will be special league-only rules that change weekly with the phases of Innistrad’s “moon.” And of course, there are cool prizes, too!

For example, the first week is “quiet moon,” in which there are no special rules; the second week, “new moon,” all creatures get +1/+0; in the third week, each player draws eight cards at the start of the game and the maximum hand size becomes eight; for week four, each player will begin the game at 25 life; Week five allows for each player to play up to two lands per turn; and finally week six all creatures have haste.

Certainly adds some interesting design elements to those who design their decks to take advantage of these rules.

At the end of the league, cool prizes and posters will be awarded to the top finishers.

Is this something you would like TJ Collectibles to run? We can do it! Sound off and please let us know if you’re interested by contacting us or let us know in person. We’ll be happy to get it going for you!
